Visiting a church for the first time can feel a little uncertain—we understand that. Whether you’ve been part of a church community for years, haven’t been in a long time, or are simply curious, we want you to know that you are warmly invited just as you are. Below is a brief Q&A about what you can expect…

You are welcome here
WHEN and WHERE is worship?
Most of our churches have services on Sunday morning, but please check the “Our Churches” page for service times & addresses, as it does vary by location.
HOW long are worship services?
Usually, worship lasts about an hour to an hour & 15 minutes. Sometimes they’re a bit longer (Eucharist); sometimes they are shorter (Morning Prayer).
WHAT do most people wear?
We hope you’ll feel comfortable to come as you are. Many come dressed ‘smart casually’. People wear what is comfortable to them. Jeans are totally fine.
WHAT about my kids?
Some churches offer a children’s program, but others do not. Regardless, children are always welcome!
WHO leads the worship service?
We have one full-time Team Leader, plus several Priests, Deacons and Licensed Lay Ministers (LLM). Together they ensure that worship leaders are available; the mix makes for added variety.
HOW often is Communion or Eucharist celebrated?
This varies by location each week, depending on if an ordained Priest is present to lead worship. Deacons and LLMs will lead Morning Prayer.
CAN anyone receive Communion?
Communion is offered to all who are baptised in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, whatever your church background. You do not need to be Anglican to receive. If you are baptised and desire to receive the sacrament, you are welcome.
If you are not baptised, or if you would prefer not to receive Communion, you are warmly invited to come forward for a blessing, or to remain seated—both are entirely acceptable.
WHAT if I’m unsure if I should receive Communion?
Many people feel unsure about Communion, especially if they are visiting or returning to church after a long time. Please know that no one will question or judge your choice. You are free to receive Communion, come forward for a blessing, or remain in your seat.
If you would like to talk with the priest about Communion—before or after the service—they would be glad to speak with you.
AM I expected to sing?
Most services typically include music, but not always. You can sing along, or not. Some people love to sing, others may feel uncomfortable when a hymn is unfamiliar. But as Psalm 100 says, “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord”. We don’t have to have perfect pitch.
DO I have to give an offering?
We’re more about friend-raising than fund-raising. But those wishing to give an offering may place it in the offering bowl provided. We appreciate these gifts, as this is how we can provide our ministry.
DO you embarrass newcomers or visitors?
We worship together to focus our attention on God, not visitors or newcomers. We won’t ask you to stand-up or give money. We don’t want newcomers to feel embarrassed or uncomfortable. Just welcome. We understand that some people prefer to worship quietly or anonymously for the first few visits. We totally get this.
CAN I attend if I’m _________________?
However you fill in the blank, you’ll be welcomed with open arms, and we mean it. You belong here!
